Alicia's New ink

I pasted this clipping into my journal 8 years ago, thinking that if I ever got a tattoo, this is what I wanted. Well I did it, with a few modifications and enough guts I went under the gun and got some ink.

This was quite a leap for me to take. I've been supporting Matt for the past 10 years with his tattoos now I've finally decided that it was my turn.

Matt was going to have his 1/2 sleeve finished at the Detroit Tattoo Convention in the Ren Cen building so I decided that I would go along with him. Wanda was suppose to go with us but she chickened out. So here I am with over 100 tattoo artists ready to tattoo and I wasn't sure if this is really what I wanted to do. One, would I find a artist that fit my style. Two, if I found someone would they have an opening to tattoo me right then, I needed to do it right then before I could talk myself out of it. Third, Would they even tattoo me where I wanted.

I scoured the internet for ideas and I only saw 1 or 2 tattoos done on the inside of the foot. There were tons of samples of the outside of the foot tattoos. I've always been told that the foot was a very painful spot (I think that's why I haven't got one sooner, I was scared of the pain) So, I needed to talk with an artist to see if they would even tattoo the inside of my foot versus the outside. Sure enough they agreed that it was a very painful place but they could do it.

This is it, this was the studio that would do my tattoo. Everything just fit with Voluta Fine Art Tattoo Studio. Voluta Tattoo in Indianapolis was everything I could have asked for. I walked by their booth several times looking at the portfolios and talking with the artists and something just kept drawing me back to them, Everyone was so nice, kind and fun, plus a fine art tattoo studio. I didn't know they even exisited, it was great. What a great experience.

Way cool!! I've never seen such an elegant tattoo before.

You didn't say how much it hurt, though. How was it?

Wow! That's pretty elaborate for a first tattoo. I like it! Are you ready for more yet? How did Matt's go? Mom said it's still not finished.
