Born 3-30-2010 11:05pm
6lbs 10oz
20 in long
Contractions started around 10:30 am on Tuesday. After some laboring at home (timing contractions and whatnot) we decided that it was true labor. We both called into work to say that we would not be there today (or any time in the near future for that matter). We showed up at the hospital at 3:18pm, after some checkups we found out that Alicia was dilated to 4 cm already! We were admitted and given our own birthing suite. The labor progressed normally to 10cm over the next 7 hours or so (without any sort of pain relief ALL NATURAL). Once Alicia was at the pushing stage, the contractions had slowed down and were farther apart and less intense. The doctor suggested an I.V. of pitocin to get the contractions back on track. Alicia reluctantly agreed. About an hour later a beautiful little girl entered the world!

I miss you guys already, it was a great experience for me and grandpa. The nurses thought we were a bit goofy (listening at the door for any kinda sounds) I don't blame you one bit for wanting a nice private little family time in there. Never heard a sound outta you, OMG what a trooper! I could go on forever about my feelings. I sure am one Happy Grannie. Thank you Matthew and Alicia. xoxoxoxo
by the way your first family photo is beautiful

Congratulations, you guys, and welcome to the world little Lilyana! You are beautiful! Hope you don't mind that I've been following your adventures the last couple of days on the blog. Congrats too to Grannie Wanda and Grandpa Pat!
